Here are a few of the effects!

1) They expand society's knowledge: Science helps humans gain increased understanding of how the world works, while technology helps scientists make these discoveries.
2) They allow mass communication: Before science and technology was advanced enough to allow telephone calls, emails, and mass efficient printing of newspapers and books etc., people's knowledge of life beyond the area they lived in was much more limited. This idea of mass communication also profoundly effects politics as leaders now have many ways they talk directly to the people. Further, current issues are much more accessible to the public. However, one possible downside to these communication methods are that people talk face to face less than they used to.
3) Advances in medical care: People with disabilities or health problems are now more and more able to live closer to normal lives. This is because science contributes to developing medications to help health as well as technology such as mobile chairs and even electronics that monitor current body levels.
4) Changing job market: Now that technology and science allows for much more production in agriculture per worker far fewer people are needed in jobs like these. Rather jobs involving technology and scientific advancement are steadily growing.

Hope this helps!
